Company Dancers

JESSICA HALL

 

Originally from the Midlands, Jessica qualified as a dance teacher for M.I.D.A.A.I and danced at the Martha Graham Dance School before moving to London to train at LABAN gaining a BA (Hons) in Dance Theatre. During her training she participated in a placement with 2FACED Dance Company and has worked with choreographers Kerry Nichols and Zoi Dimitriou, where she toured their work around the UK and Malta. She also performed in the UK premiere of the restaged Primitive Mysteries by Martha Graham. She joined Joss Arnott Dance in 2010 and is currently working with Austrian choreographer Willi Dorner.

 

SAMANTHA LEWIS



Samantha trained at The Legat School of Dance and LABAN graduating with a First Class Honours Degree. During her time at LABAN she participated in a placement with New English Contemporary Ballet and on a dance exchange to Ballettakademien, Sweden. She has worked with choreographers such as, Kerry Nicholls and Charles Linehan; this culminated in touring their works around London and Internationally. She also participated in a Research and Development project with ACE Dance and Music for their production ICE. She became part of Joss Arnott Dance in 2009 and is thrilled to be continuing to push herself technically and physically with the company.

LISA ROWLEY

 

Originally from Leicester, Lisa trained at Dupont Stage School. She then went on to train at LABAN graduating in 2008. Since then she has toured internationally with Transitions Dance Company, having the opportunity to work with Christian Duarte, Danyel Larrieu and Cheng Tsung-Lung. Lisa then went on to work with Henri Oguike as a company member for his 2009 Reserach and Development Period. Following this Lisa joined ACE Dance and Music for their Spring 2010 tour of Switch,  performing works choreographed by Andile Sotiya and Douglas Thorpe. Lisa joined Tavaziva Dance in September 2010 for their Autumn tour of Wild Dog and their 2011 production of Double Take. She is currently working on Tavaziva's new work Sensual Africa. Lisa joined Joss Arnott Dance in 2010.





ROSANNA WALLIS GAIN



Rosanna joined the company in 2010, graduating from LABAN with a First Class Honours Degree. Whilst training she worked with artists such as Lyndsey McConville, Charles Linehan and Kerry Nichols performing in Malta and around the UK. Rosanna has also had performance experience with StopGAP Dance Company and was a founding member of Dreckly Productions, whose first work was premiered successfully at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival 2009. Rosanna joined Transitions Dance Company in September 2010 working with choreographers Lucy Guerin, Melanie Teall and Martin Nachbar touring the UK and to Amsterdam, alongside studying for her MA in Dance Performance.

 

 

 

LAUREL DALLEY SMITH



Laurel trained at Central School of Ballet where she graduated with a 1st Class BA Honours Degree in Dance and Performance Art. Whilst at Central she worked with choreographers such as Russel Maliphant, David Nixon and Christopher Hampson, creating pieces for Ballet Centrals UK tour. Upon graduating Laurel performed in the 50th Anniversary UK Tour of West Side Story. Laurel has recently performed as a member of Vex Dance Theatre at venues in Bristol and London. She is also currently a member of touring company ADiaspora Collective and Uchenna Dance Company, dancing different styles including African Contemporary, House and Hip Hop. She enjoys varied and diverse styles of movement and dance theatre, and exploring new ways of moving and performing. Laurel joined Joss Arnott Dance in September 2010.

GABRIELLE BOYD



Gabrielle started her technical dance training with Swindon Dance Foundation. She then received a scholarship place at Rambert School of Ballet and Contemporary Dance and graduated with a BA Honors Degree. Whilst at Rambert, in her final year Gabrielle had the opportunity to be a part of Robert Cohan's Forest, and was part of the first students to ever perform it in its entirety under the direction of Charlotte Kirkpatrick.


Following this Gabrielle went on to become an Apprentice Dancer with Henri Oguike Dance Company for the 10 Year Anniversary Tour. She has also worked freelance on many dance film projects, and was part of Iratik Dance Theatre. Gabrielle is also part of an up and coming project with choreographer Amelia Cardwell and Royal College of Music at the Britten Theatre for their John Cage season. Gabrielle joined Joss Arnott Dance in September 2011.

 


DARJA REZNIKOVA



Originally born in the Ukraine Darja studied at the Akademie des Tanzes in Mannheim and the Academy of Performing Atrs in San Diego, CA/USA.

 

In Germany she was further involved as a student, teacher, performer and choreographer at the Aki Kato Tanzforum and worked as a freelance dancer, model and choreographer in the commercial industry before coming to London. In 2009 Darja graduated from Bird College with a First Class BA (Hons) Degree in Dance and Theatre Performance where she was also rewarded one of the two Doreen Bird Dream Awards.

 

Upon graduation Darja joined Transitions Dance Company touring works internationally by Cameron McMillan, Angela Woodhouse and Colin Poole. She graduated from LABAN with a MA Degree in Dance Performance with Distinction.


She has worked with choreographers such as Anh Ngoc Nguyen, Katie Morea, Andrew Wilson, Tony Parrie, Nikki O’Hara, Mandy Montanez and Brooke Milliner. Company credits include The Maxwell Dance Project, The London Ballet Company as well as being part of H2 Dance’s R&D project of “Say Something” working with Hanna Gillgen and Heidi Rustgaard.

 

Darja is also a faculty member of the Contemporary Dance department at Bird College. She has also worked with Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui and Joe Wright on the feature film production of Anna Karenina. Darja joined Joss Arnott Dance in September 2011.
